Fabric Description
Cotton Jersey is a loosely knit fabric made from natural cotton, sometimes with added spandex or other synthetic fibers to enhance stretch and drape. It is commonly used in t-shirts and is known for its soft and comfortable feeling when worn. Cotton jersey is great for kids clothes, summer dresses, pants and other comfortable attire.
The face of cotton jersey is very smooth, while the back has a slight texture. You will notice the edges of cotton jersey roll toward the face. It tends to shrink, so it is advisable to pre-wash your fabric before sewing. Also keep in mind that cotton jersey can stretch but does not have as good a recovery as other fabrics made from synthetic fibers.
